En la primera fecha de la segunda rueda del torneo de Primera B que se disputó durante el fin de semana los equipos maulinos sólo consiguieron sumar un punto, pues empataron sus respectivos partidos.

El trámite del partido fue bastante apretado. De hechos los primeros minutos del cotejo fueron de ida y vuelta, hasta que la defensa del rojinegro fue madrugada por la delantera local.
Esto sucedió a los siete minutos de partidos cuando Gutiérrez sorprendió al meta talquino dejándolo sin opción de contener su remate.

Por su parte Curicó Unido se enfrentó de local a Unión San Felipe al medio día del domingo y a pesar del excelente juego mostrado en el clásico frente a Rangers la semana anterior, lo pupilos de Cornejo sólo se quedaron con un empate sin goles.
