En el Sector Costero, dentro del que se consideraron a las localidades de Iloca, Duao, Vichuquén, Constitución, Pelluhue, Curanipe y Chanco, el promedio de ocupación fue de un 83% durante este período.

Según sondeo realizado por Sernatur- Región del Maule, correspondiente a la primera quincena de este mes (1 al 15 febrero), los establecimientos turísticos de alojamiento, entre los que se encuentran residenciales, hoteles, hostales, cabañas y camping; se puede indicar que en el sector costero (Iloca, Duao, Vichuquén, Constitución, Pelluhue, Curanipe y Chanco) el promedio de ocupación fue de un 83% durante este período, registrándose un 18% más que la segunda quincena de enero; sobresaliendo la comuna de Pelluhue con un promedio de ocupación de un 94%, llegando los fines de semana a un 100%. En el sector de Iloca los fines de semana también han registrado un 100% de ocupación. Por otro lado, la pernoctación promedio en este sector es de 5 noches los chilenos y de 3 noches los extranjeros.
Para el sector precordillerano, durante la primera quincena de febrero se obtuvo un promedio de 74% de ocupación, presentando un 4% más que los últimos 15 días de enero. Destacándose el sector de Vilches con 91% de ocupación promedio. Para este sondeo también se consideraron Molina, Linares, Colbún y Parral. La pernoctación promedio en la precordillera maulina es de 4 noches los chilenos y de 3 noches los extranjeros. En cuanto al sector cordillerano, la pernoctación promedio es de 6 noches.
El director regional de SERNATUR, Jaime Rubio Palma, expresó que “La campaña de difusión desplegada por Sernatur para promocionar las distintas alternativas turísticas que el visitante puede disfrutar en la región del Maule, está generando un gran flujo de turistas. Vamos a continuar en esta tarea, considerando que el turismo tiene un gran potencial en esta zona ya que responde a la demanda del mercado interno e internacional. La oferta turística, la cual cuenta de balnearios con excelentes servicios, visita a reservas nacionales, observación de flora y fauna, caminatas, cabalgatas, rafting, surfing, visita a museos, pueblos típicos, piscinas termales, rutas del vino, además de la posibilidad de degustar una gastronomía típica, comprar artesanía, realizar un recorrido en el Tren Talca– Constitución, participar en fiestas religiosas y tradicionales, responde cabalmente a lo que el visitante busca para su descanso y recreación”.
El director regional también hizo un llamado a los empresarios turísticos a entregar un buen servicio a los visitantes y que el trato hacia ellos sea siempre cortés, amable y con una gran disposición a responder a las exigencias y demandas del turista para así garantizar la fidelidad de ellos.
