Francisco Vidal, destacó que el Ejecutivo cumplió -desde el punto de vista de querer resolver el conflicto en Codelco- al entregar una propuesta al presidente de la Central Unitaria de Trabajadores (CUT), Arturo Martínez.

Francisco Vidal, minsitro secretario general de Gobierno indicó que el Ejecutivo cumplió al entregar una propuesta al presidente de la Central Unitaria de Trabajadores, para intentar resolver elconflicto en Codelco. "Se ha hecho el máximo esfuerzo, se ha entregado la propuesta y solamente estamos a la espera de que los trabajadores de esta confederación la acojan y ojalá mañana se vuelva a la más plena normalidad", expresó.
El secretario de Estado señaló que se espera que el problema se solucione a la brevedad "porque finalmente este conflicto le hace mal en primer lugar al país, en segundo lugar a la empresa más importante de todos los chilenos, que es Codelco, y también a los trabajadores, tanto a los que están de planta, como a los subcontratistas".
"Lo que queremos es que gane el país y el país gana si este conflicto se resuelve y se termina pronto. Gana el país porque Codelco es la principal empresa de todos lo chilenos, no solamente la número uno en Chile, está entre las 10 de América Latina y entre las 50 del mundo. Gana el país porque se dejan de tener perdidas, Codelco perdiendo 100 millones de dólares, el que pierde es Chile, porque con la plata de Codelco se financia la vivienda, se financia la educación, se financia la salud, se financian los caminos".
La autoridad añadió que "por eso que el Gobierno ha puesto el máximo empeño para hacer esta propuesta, a través del presidente de la CUT, y espera confiado que los trabajadores democráticamente en sus asambleas respalden a sus dirigentes para que esto se resuelva".
