Durante el encuentro, llevado a cabo en el auditorio de Cirugía del hospital, la encargada del PRAIS, Blanca Iturra, explicó que la entrega del material corresponde a una iniciativa que se está desarrollando a nivel nacional, a objeto de recordarle a la comunidad la importancia de este programa y la forma en que se puede acceder a sus beneficios en los centros de salud.
Según la encargada, el PRAIS está orientado a la atención integral de las secuelas físicas y sicológicas del daño ocasionado por la represión política, por ello es que las personas que son beneficiarias del programa tienen derecho a gratuidad de las prestaciones médicas en el servicio público de salud.
En representación del hospital, la asistente social Patricia Fuentes indicó que se programará además una charla con funcionarios y directivos en los próximos días, a objeto de reafirmar el compromiso institucional con aquellas personas beneficiarias de este programa. Durante la actividad estuvieron representantes de agrupaciones de derechos humanos, funcionarios del Hospital, Servicio de Salud del Maule y del Hospital de Talca.
