Cerca de 200 personas se reunieron a medio día para esperar la llegada del candidato presidencial de la Alianza a Curicó. Junto con él participaron de esta actividad el senador y presidente de la UDI, Juan Antonio Coloma, el diputado Sergio Correa, el alcalde de Curicó Hugo Rey y la alcaldesa de Molina Mirtha Segura.
Además en esta ocasión, se presentaron los candidatos a diputados que competirán por el distrito 36, Celso Morales por la UDI y Francisco Sanz de RN.
Anterior a la llegada a la plaza de armas, el candidato presidencial se reunió con el director del Diario La Prensa con el cual desarrollo una extensa entrevista.
Pero la visita del empresario no estuvo exenta de polémicas, ya que un grupo de manifestantes -entre ellos el presidente del centro de alumnos del liceo Luís Cruz Martínez- hicieron sentir su descontento en contra de, según ellos, los responsables de la actual crisis económica mundial. Dicho altercado estuvo a segundos de finiquitar a golpes con jóvenes adherentes a Piñera, lo cual terminó con la intervención de Carabineros.
