El Vicepresidente del Senado Jaime Naranjo, hizo llegar su saludo y reconocimiento a los voluntarios de todo Chile al conmemorarse el Día Nacional del Bombero. Cabe señalar, que el Senador Naranjo fue el autor y promotor de las leyes N° 19.830 que modificó el Código Penal para proteger la seguridad de los voluntarios en actos de servicio y penalizar las falsas alarmas; y la N°19.798 que establece beneficios para los voluntarios que sufran accidentes o mueran en actos servicios.
Jaime Naranjo, dijo que “resulta lamentable que en los hechos, la sociedad chilena no reconozca realmente la abnegada labor que estos voluntarios realizan a lo largo y ancho de nuestro país, ya que sino, no se puede entender la precaria situación económica y material en que muchos voluntarios desempeñan sus funciones.
Además, comentó que esta precaria situación se da con mayor fuerza en provincias y principalmente en comunas rurales como las existentes en la región del Maule, donde los cuarteles, implementos de trabajo e incluso su vestimenta de servicio, se encuentra deteriorada. Hecho, que lejos de hacerlos desistir en su labor, les da más fuerza para continuar con su trabajo.
"Asi, lo he podido comprobar en mi continuo contacto con los cuerpos de Bomberos de las comunas de Retiro, Longaví, Chanco, Villa Alegre, San Javier, Yerbas Buenas, Parral, Linares, Colbún, a quienes les hago llegar mi más sincero reconocimiento y mi decisión de seguir estando junto a ellos, trabajando para conseguir mejores condiciones y así puedan desempeñar su labor”.
Naranjo comentó también que como siempre han estado y estarán junto a nosotros, no valoramos que "contamos con un Cuerpo de Bomberos ejemplar, que sus integrantes son voluntarios y no profesionales, como ocurre en la mayoría de los países del mundo, que lo que prima en ellos es su vocación de servicio público. Debemos ser capaces de revertir esta situación y hacer que la sociedad chilena valore cabalmente a nuestros bomberos”.

encuentro que los bomberos son buenos en sutrabajo pero deberian ser profesionales y tener su propio sueldo, para no tener que dar tantas escusas a las personas que alegan y hablan mal de ustedes, dejandolos mal parados ante todo el pais.
