La Cancillería destacó que el acuerdo significa un “paso decisivo” para el posicionamiento de Chile en la cuenca del Asia Pacífico, que "concentrará el mayor crecimiento económico y comercial” en las próximas décadas.
"Además, permitirá reforzar la posición de Chile como puente de unión entre Asia y el cono sur de América Latina”, precisó el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores.
El acuerdo establece categorías de desgravación arancelaria inmediatas, a un año, a cinco años y a diez años, pero excluye los productos textiles y metalmecánicos, además del trigo, harina de trigo y azúcar.
De esta manera, el 92% de los productos tendrán arancel cero para ingresar a China desde la entrada en vigencia del acuerdo, para llegar a un 99% dentro de los próximos diez años, con un 1% de exclusión.
En el caso chino, en tanto, el 50% de las importaciones chinas podrá ingresar libre de aranceles desde que se ponga en marcha el acuerdo, para pasar al 97% en diez años, con un 3% de exclusión.
