En algunos matutinos se ha escrito que el Párroco de la Iglesia tendría intenciones de donar los terrenos para el famoso museo, pero no. Simplemente no se puede porque los terrenos ni siquiera son del Obispado, sino de los Franciscanos que lo dieron en comodato al Obispado de Talca.
La idea del Párroco, Padre Mauricio Jacques, es la de habilitar algunas salas que se encuentran en mal estado y abandonadas para hacer un Museo Eclesial y Centro Cultural para la provincia y así dar a conocer la cultura de la ciudad que partió alrededor de esta Iglesia antes de la fundación de Curicó.
Para todos estos fines se requiere dinero como en todas las cosas y no porque se ubique en el sector con más ingresos económicos de ciudad esto será fácil.
Como comunidad parroquial se está organizando un gran Bingo con el objetivo de obtener recursos para dichos fines. Esperamos la colaboración y el aporte de los curicanos para que podamos tener este tan ansiado y anunciado Museo de la Iglesia y convento de San Francisco.
