Agricultores aseguran riego con obra de INDAP

Campesinos de la comuna de Molina están siendo beneficiados con un proyecto que cuenta con recursos del Instituto de Desarrollo Agropecuario.

La obra consistió en la apertura y canalización de la obra de toma del canal Buena Paz en el sector La Puntilla del río Lontué, comuna de Molina. El número de regantes beneficiados directamente son 47, los que se encuentran constituidos en una comunidad de aguas.
Los principales rubros agrícolas en esa zona son cultivos estacionales y frutales, mientras que las hectáreas que aseguran su riego para las futuras temporadas agrícolas son cerca de cien.
El problema que tenían estos agricultores es que debían extraer el agua para riego de otro canal, con cuya comunidad presentaban problemas a menudo. Postularon a través del área Curicó a un proyecto de INDAP, siendo beneficiados con $4.738.800. A esto se sumó el aporte de los propios agricultores que ascendió a $1.372.562, con lo que pudieron ejecutar la obra.
Al respecto la Directora Regional de INDAP Rebeca Bulnes valoró la organización de los vecinos para asociarse, presentar proyecto y beneficiar así los cultivos que les permitirán mejorar su competitividad. “Esta zona con frecuencia se ve afectada durante el invierno por las crecidas del río, generando mayor incertidumbre para los productores. Obras como ésta demuestran el aporte concreto que el INDAP está realizando a los campesinos, para que puedan producir con calidad y contribuir a la meta que es convertir a Chile en una potencia agroalimentaria”.
La visita culminó con una recepción a las autoridades que consistió en el tradicional “chancho en piedra”, sólo que fue confeccionado en una piedra de grandes dimensiones extraída del río al momento de ejecutarse la obra.
