La Subsecretaria de Agricultura, Cecilia Leiva Montenegro, informó que las autoridades de la Administración General de Supervisión de Calidad, Inspección y Cuarentena de la República Popular China, AQSIQ, autorizaron el ingreso de productos lácteos chilenos a su mercado, finalizando así un largo proceso de negociaciones sanitarias.
La Subsecretaria, que encabeza la Misión Oficial chilena en ese país, integrada por el Jefe de la División de Asuntos Internacionales del SAG Miguel Peña, el Presidente de Fedefruta, Rodrigo Echeverría, y representantes de la Embajada chilena, entre otros, sostuvo diversas reuniones de trabajo junto a las autoridades del Ministerio de Agricultura de China, para agilizar la agenda común de trabajo que tienen ambos países.
Cabe destacar que entre enero y octubre de 2006, las exportaciones de productos pecuarios a China, superaron los 14 millones de dólares, lo que significa un incremento del 60 % con respecto a igual período del año anterior.
En lo que respecta a las exportaciones de productos lácteos chilenos al mundo, entre enero y agosto de 2006, se han exportado más de 70 millones de dólares.
