"Primera piedra de proyecto que mejora servicio de agua potable en Copihue

El Intendente de la Región del Maule, el Gobernador de Linares, junto al Alcalde de Retiro y autoridades de la Seremi de Obras Públicas colocaron la primera piedra en las obras para el mejoramiento del agua potable en el pueblo de Copihue.

El proyecto tiene un costo de 267 millones de pesos financiados por la Dirección de Obras Hidráulicas del Ministerio de Obras Públicas. Su puesta en marcha modernizará el actual servicio de agua potable que data de 1970 y beneficiará a cerca de 3 mil personas.
En la ocasión, el presidente de la Cooperativa de Agua Potable Rural de Copihue, Sergio Cofre Bravo, dio las gracias en nombre de los vecinos al Intendente Regional, por cumplir el sueño de la comunidad de contar con agua potable en un sector tan alejado como lo es la localidad de Copihue.
El mejoramiento del sistema de agua potable es de vital importancia para esta comunidad rural. Luego del intenso temporal que afectó a la región en julio, el pueblo de Copihue vivió una emergencia sanitaria al rebalsarse sus fosas sépticas y pozos negros.
El Intendente de la Región del Maule, Alexis Sepúlveda Soto, dijo que este proyecto es sólo el puntapié inicial de una intervención global que requiere la localidad de Copihue.
Por ello adelantó que se seguirán destinando recursos para abordar la problemática del agua potable y apoyará la iniciativa municipal para dotar de alcantarillado a la comunidad local.
Por su parte, el Alcalde de Retiro, Patricio Contreras, dijo que este es un verdadero logro para la comunidad de Copihue y resaltó que existen para este año otros proyectos, como el mencionado alcantarillado, pavimentación de calles y una nueva población para personas que están sin vivienda.
Finalmente el Intendente Sepúlveda felicitó al Alcalde de Retiro por su compromiso con los habitantes de su comuna, que da cuenta de un esfuerzo “que ha significado la atracción de inversión pública y privada en una comuna pequeña que hoy retoma fuertemente su rumbo y recobra fuerza para contribuir al desarrollo de todos sus habitantes”.
